Weekend Getaway Guide: Seattle Washington

I know it's been a while, BUT all I can say is 2020! Despite this unusual year we're having, 2020 has actually had some silver-linings. Since the lockdown/quarantine in March I've allowed myself to reprioritize, reflect and SLOW DOWN. Six months later, I feel recharged, and ready to end this year with a bang. That being said, I spontaneously booked a trip to Seattle, Washington and created this Weekend Getaway Guide.

This was my first time to Seattle and although I didn't know what to expect - really loved it! Fortunately for me, one of my good friends moved out there about two years ago and has been getting the lay of the land ever since. After graduating, we haven't been able to see each other as much as we'd like, but as life would have it, been able to see each other twice during this pandemic. Ironic right?

WEEKEND GETAWAY GUIDE: SEATTLE, WASHINGTON - TOP 9 THINGS TO DO + SEE

1. PIKE PLACE MARKET

Pike Place Market is Seattle's picturesque backdrop we're all familiar with. Be sure to dress cute when you're in the neighborhood because you'll find many instagramable spots and things to cross off your list. For instance, the gum wall, Floral Farmers Market, Rachel's Ginger Beer and Maximilien restaurant are all centrally located here.

2. THE SPACE NEEDLE

Location: 400 Broad St, Seattle, WA 98109

I did not get a chance to go to the Space Needle this trip due to an already packed agenda, and because the California smoke made it a little hazy the first couple of days. However, I do have it on my list for the next time! This is an activity you definitely want to do on a clear day and purchase your ticket(s) ahead of time. Click HERE to buy your ticket(s).

3. FLORAL MARKET AT PIKE PLACE

Location: 93 Pike St, Seattle, WA 98101

I don't think I've stopped talking about how GORGEOUS and affordable Pike Place's flowers are! Their bouquets are just breathtaking - so vibrant, fresh and full. The bouquet I have in my photos for instance only cost me $15! Yes, you read that right. If I lived here, I swear I'd buy fresh flowers EVERY other day. This family owned business has been planting, picking and arranging these beauties since '93.

4. THE GUM WALL

Location: 1428 Post Alley, Seattle, WA 98101

I know, I know, not the best place to be during COVID, however, this iconic gum wall is not only a instagramable spot, but something you'll have to see in person. Get yourself a pack of Bubble Yum, blow a big bubble and leave your mark! This is one sticky situation you won't mind being in.

5. RAINBOW CROSSWALKS

Location: All over the city!

6. HOT TUB BOAT

Location: 2520 Westlake Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109

The hot tub boat was certainly my favorite activity I did this trip! I mean, soaking in a hot tub with friends while boating around Seattle? What can be better? If you get the chance, I HIGHLY recommend reserving one of these boats because it's such a fun, unique experience you don't want to miss. I'm actually surprised more cities don't offer this. Needless to say, sit back relax, and enjoy the best way to [SEA] Seattle.

7. STARBUCK RESERVE

Location: 1124 Pike St, Seattle, WA 98101

If you thought Starbucks was popular, wait till you see the caffeinated praise they get in Seattle. Starbucks was founded in Seattle and because of this is Washington's go to coffee shop. Aside from their franchise cafes, they also have a Starbucks Reserve which you have to see. It's like a coffee museum where you can sip on espresso martinis or any of their other decadent coffee inspired cocktails. Starbucks Reserve is surely a caffeinated experience that will have you buzzing.

8. WINERIES - COLUMBIA WINERY

Location: 14030 NE 145th St, Woodinville, WA 98072

I didn't know Seattle had wineries but am glad they do because the girls and I had a blast. We went to the Columbia Winery where we had a WINE-derful time drinking and eating all afternoon! They also have an amazing wine club membership that I suggest you look into if you or someone you know lives in the area. I know I'd be a loyal member if I lived there.

9. THE SEATTLE GREAT WHEEL

Location: 1301 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98101

Last, but not least, The Seattle Great Wheel. What a sight to see! Unfortunately, the Ferris Wheel is not currently running due to a construction project on Pier 58 and of COVID of course. This, along with the Space Needle are two activities I'll be checking off my list next time I visit.

Although we tried a lot, check out their full menu because everything literally looks amazing! Therefore, be sure to come hungry!
