Tuesday Thoughts and Quotes
Ever wonder why so many of us are drawn to motivational quotes and sayings? Why we screen shot or jot down certain things? Words are more powerful than I originally thought. Because words of affirmation is my top love language, I thought my robust connection to these quotes and phrases as merely a characteristic trait of mine, but after reading this Huffington Post article, I've realized it's not just me. Words are extremely powerful and have the ability to help, to hurt, to heal, to humiliate, to humble and everything in-between.
Words teach us as much as they confuse us. They can be used for good or for bad. It is our responsibility to choose. Pay attention to how you express yourself verbally and in writing. The way we decide to communicate and think will have a profound affect on others, including ourselves.
Now, more than ever, I believe it's important to use the power of words to uplift instead of put down. With everything going on in the world - COVID-19, BLM movement, and the continuous political turmoil - to name a few, has made it challenging to think clearly. During a time where love is so vastly needed, we are unfortunately facing the harsh reality of lots of anger, confusion and hate.
Tuesday Thoughts and Quotes
We have all been guilty of saying something we didn't mean. Words can easily be said, but not easily taken back. I challenge all of us (including myself) to think a little longer before speaking out loud and speaking with intent, purpose and love.
Remember, your thoughts and verbal expressions shape your life and the lives of others. Everything you do is influenced by what you think and how you decide to express yourself. Below are some of my favorite quotes/sayings that have recently resonated with me. Feel free to comment below or post on my IG and share some of your favorite quote(s)/saying because I would love to hear what uplifts and inspires you.
