A Quick Glance at 2019 The Last Year of the Decade
THE END OF A DECADE
Happy 2020 everyone! We've now entered a new decade and I hope the remainder of your 2019 was wonderful! I spent my remaining days of the decade enjoying it with family and friends. During the holiday break, I decided to slow down on social media, which in fact, left me feeling well-rested and rejuvenated. Aside from the mental reset I was undoubtedly overdue for, I spent time taking a quick glance at 2019, which was a great idea. Despite the few challenges I faced over the span of the year, 2019 turned out to be very special.
Even though I wrote every post, it surely was a sweet stroll down memory lane, as I read through them all again. For example, when I read though my "City Guide; Amsterdam, Netherlands" post, I vividly was taken back to the amazing trip Colin and I took last fall. This was unquestionably one of my favorite adventures of 2019 and I couldn't be happier to have it documented. For this reason, I can easily revisit this and similar memories at anytime which is a real treat.
As I write this post, however, I've realized something that's always been right in front of my face. My "lifestyle" blog isn't just a creative outlet, but rather a personal journal, housing many key moments of my life. Therefore, I challenge you to journal a couple times this year.
Below are some of my top 2019 posts (in my opinion) that I believe paints a beautiful picture of the last year of the decade.
A QUICK GLANCE AT 2019, THE LAST YEAR OF THE DECADE
1. I wanted to begin with posts that always seem to be relative to me, despite the year. Posts that deal with finding the perfect balance because that's key. Although, finding harmony between hustling, seizing the day and maintaining true happiness can be a challenge.
2. Then, decided to focus more of my time bettering my mental health.
3. And my internal/external beauty.
4. At the same time, I had fun in 2019 collaborating with companies such as J. Crew in Georgetown, RTR, and Osteria Morini in Navy Yard to name a few.
5. As I equally aimed to live a healthier life by eating cleaner and being physically active. However, I did surprise myself with all the outdoor activities I actually enjoyed in 2019. (- thanks to Colin).
6. Later in the year, I filled the remaining months of 2019 with lots of travel (domestically as well as internationally). Exploring Amsterdam and sailing the BVI were my top 2 favorite trips of 2019 without a doubt.
7. And last but not least, I found someone who REALLY makes me happy!
In short, 2019 had it ups and downs, but name a year that hasn't. Last year was certainly a year filled with incredible moments and memories that I'll forever treasure. More importantly, it was a year full of immense personal growth which I'm especially grateful for.
2019 all in all was a beautiful year that concluded a decade. Since looking back and reflecting on the past 365 days, I can honestly say I wouldn't change a thing. Last year's "New Year, Better You" post contained lots of my thoughts/feelings I had going into 2019. Stay tuned to see just how I feel about entering 2020! xoxox.
