Valentine "go-to" Spots in D.C. and Denver
Do you have plans for February 14th yet? This year I will be spending my V-Day with my boo in Denver. I have lived in D.C. for almost 4 years now and definitely feel like I have the lay of the land. Although, over this past year, I've spent more time in Colorado and got to try out some really neat spots. All in all, I've discovered some AMAZING places in both cities that are perfect spots for a Valentines date night (or any night out for that matter). Below, is a list of Valentine "go-to" spots in both D.C. and Denver. Each city has grown on me and has a lot to offer you and that special someone. Check out my list below and make your Valentine/Galentine reservations today!
MY VALENTINE "GO-TO" SPOTS IN D.C. AND DENVER
D.C. RESTAURANTS
The Imperial is a new, funky bar/restaurant taking D.C. by storm! Their ambiance, food, and cocktails are wonderful! If you sit at the bar, ask for Fernando... he makes all my cocktails to perfection.
Cafe Milano is a D.C. staple with extreme status, and excellent food. Many powerful people dine here, so keep an out, because you never know who you will see.
I LOVE the Dabney and actually enjoyed an incredible Valentine's dinner here last year! I give it an overall A+, even though making reservations can sometimes be challenging. Because of its popularity, try saving the link to your "favorites" and check it frequently. I promise, it's worth it!
Fiola Mare is another D.C. favorite located down at Georgetown waterfront. This restaurant is an excellent choice if you're in the mood for seafood and serves up decadent dishes I know you'll love. They also offer a lovely and extremely affordable brunch (which I may have had 2 or 3 times) - hehe.
Chez Billy is a quaint hole in the wall and is also located in Georgetown. It has a light and dainty atmosphere and some of the best French food I've had in the city (next to Le Dip). Be sure to get there early, so you can enjoy a cocktail at their a-joining rustic bar before din.
Le Diplomate is a French cafe on 14th street that will have you saying "OOH LA LA" over and over again! They offer all the French favorites such as escargot, steak frites, pate, duck and of course cheese. Le Dip is one of my favorite go to's in the district. Sit back and relax as you sip on their decadent wine and shove your face with their warm baguette and butter.
The Pembroke is a chic, and relatively new spot that you have to try! It's a lovely place to go for a Galentine's brunch or romantic dinner with that special someone. I went there for my birthday brunch last April and have been dying to go back!
Del Mar is one of the most esthetically pleasing restaurants I've been to. In the mood for paella? This is the place to be. The food is incredible and the experience is heightened by the beautiful dishes they serve each course on.
Ghibellina puts a spin on the whole pizza date night. If you're looking for a fun, laid back night-out, look no further. Order up a glass (or bottle) of their tasty wine and one of their famous pizza's. Ghibellina serves each of their delicious pies with a pair of scissors. You are in charge of cutting as much or as little as you'd like. How FUN is that!
Tiger Fork is a fun restaurant with an Asian flare! Try it out if your looking to spice up your Valentines with a nontraditional spot, or simply looking to enjoy a night out with friends.
D.C. BARS
The Columbia Room is the place for you if you're in the mood for some cleverly crafted cocktails. This edgy bar will have you feeling both bougie and boozy as you sip on their fun creations. They also offer a "Tasting Experience" which I tried last month and highly encourage.
Barmini is certainly an experience. Reserve a spot at one of the hottest bars in town this Valentines. I had a blast when I went and enjoyed each of my outrageously crafted cocktails. I also ordered up one of their grilled cheese appetizers which was heaven.
ENO
Eno is a low key wine bar is located in the heart of Georgetown. It's an excellent spot to enjoy a wine flight and cheeseboard.
Little pearl is the cutest spot. I love how simple and fresh the vibe is and find it a great spot to relax and unwind!
Morris American Bar is a lovely place to grab a drink. This lightly blue dusted vintage bar takes you back in time.
DENVER RESTAURANTS
This is my FAVORITE restaurant in Denver! The atmosphere, food, and Zalto wine glasses define the experience. Each time I go, I'm left more satisfied than the last. Colin and I go almost every time I'm in town and still that isn't enough. Tavernetta surely has a piece of my heart.
Sunday Vinyl is "turning the table". This brand new bar is the hottest spot. Located in the center of downtown and sister restaurant/bar to my all time favorite Tavernetta (mentioned above), there's no wonder why I'm a huge fan of this place too!
El Five is taking the Mile High City to new heights. Enjoy a variety of Mediterranean tapas with a unique twist, as you gaze over the city and sip on your cocktail.
Sit at the chefs counter and watch your meal and others get prepared. This women owned and headed restaurant surely knows how to add the most important ingredient (love) to every dish.
DENVER BARS
This roaring 20's speakeasy is accessed through a service corridor in the alley behind a bougie hotel in Cherry Creek. Enjoy a romantic evening if you can find their number to text them to make a reservation.
Another favorite speakeasy of mine would have to be the Green Russel. This was the first speakeasy I went to in Denver. This bar is actually the same bar who introduced me to my all-time favorite cocktail: Extra Spicy Gin Gimlet. Not only was this cocktail prepared well and dangerously delicious, it also GLOWED in the dark (literally). I highly recommend checking this place out.
I LOVE this bar and hotel. Death & Co is located inside the Ramble hotel (which if you haven't been, NEED to try). This hotel is where Colin and I spent past two New Years Eve's at. It is a stunning space with great cocktails. It's the only Death & Co outside of New York - the same Death & Co who created the craft cocktail scene.
All aboard!! Cooper Lounge is located at the top of Union Station. This cleverly constructed space makes for the perfect lounge. Enjoy an Old Fashioned as you sit back and take in this ornate and newly renovated, historic place.
Thank you all for checking out my Valentine "go-to" Spots in D.C. and Denver. I hope you all have a beautiful Valentines Day and get the chance to dine or grab a cocktail at some of these AMAZING spots! xoxo
