The Royal Wedding Pub
CLINK, CLINK, CLINK... ATTENTION PLEASE
[gallery link="file" columns="1" size="full" ids="3607"]You’re invited to attend the Royal Wedding Pub! It's finally here and waiting your arrival. This has become the talk of the town, so don't miss out! Come celebrate the matrimony of the charming Prince Harry and gorgeously, talented Meghan Markle and soon to be American Princess. Join in on the majestic festivities taking place now through May 20th. This Royal Pub is another creatively crafted popup bar that Drink Company has graciously bestowed upon us. This Royal affair can be found in the Mt. Vernon Square neighborhood, specifically located at 1841 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20001. Access will be granted to thee Monday through Sunday from 5:30pm-12:30am.
WELCOME TO THE UNITED KINGDOM
[gallery link="file" columns="1" size="full" ids="3595,3593,3600"]After walking through the pub's door, you'll instantly feel as though you've made your way to the UK. Drink Company only transformed one of the three bars that they typically use to host these themed pop ups. Nevertheless, this intimate setting has a charming aesthetic. The heraldic flags run the length of the bar while the similarly themed faux stained glass windows mirror it. Once you get further into the bar, your attention may be drawn to the vaulted ceilings which replicates that of the couple's wedding venue. Need to use the loo? Be sure to check out the wallpaper collage of Beefeater and Sipsmith located in the hallway and the adorable banner of Megan and Harry draped across the ceiling as you make your way.
ORDER UP
[gallery size="full" columns="1" link="file" ids="3582,3584,3581"]This dapper gent is shakin' things up behind the bar. He and the other talented mixologists can't be missed as they are dressed to impress with their polished crisp white button downs and bow-ties. Upon receiving your royal drink, don't forget to ask thee for one of their golden paper crowns. Once the crown is placed on your head, sit back and relax while you elegantly sip on your regal cocktail.
THE ROYAL MENU
[gallery link="file" columns="1" size="full" ids="3596,3585,3586"]In the mood for a Markle Sparkle, Kensington Garden Party, American Princess or all three? You're in luck ol chap. The talented ladies and gents behind the bar are stirring up one cleverly concocted cocktail after another. Make sure to read through the entire menu carefully to see which unique, tasty beverage will be crowned your taste-buds favorite. If you find it hard to decide, I suggest ordering up a wedding cake shot to help with your decision making. One thing I know for certain is that you can never go wrong with cake.
PERFECT CUP OF TEA
[gallery link="file" columns="1" size="full" ids="3604,3587"]Pinkies up! With tea cups in hand, raise your glass in honor of the soon to be bride and groom. Yes, you read it correctly, I said tea cups and I believe the Queen herself would agree that sipping a wonderfully crafted cocktail from a dainty porcelain cup couldn't get much classier. The Strawberry Cuppa, with its charming name and delicate appearance is anything but that. If you decide to order up this beverage, you may find it difficult to keep your wits about you after enjoying two or three of these. It's composed of single molt scotches, strawberry vermouth and topped with a lovely tea cookie to sweeten things up. Without a doubt it is delightful and I would recommend it to anyone who has a palette for dark alcohol.[gallery link="file" columns="1" size="full" ids="3590"]
PUT A RING ON IT
"Put a Ring on it" is a fascinatingly tasty cocktail that is both refreshing, and sparkly. After receiving your drink, be sure to keep an eye out for that bling bling! The mixologists have discretely added a wedding ring to each of these cocktails. They can, and are encouraged to be worn by all the noble guests who order up this fun beverage. The ring is cleverly placed in the middle of the cucumber slices used to garnish this "newly hitched" lime green beverage.[gallery link="file" columns="1" size="full" ids="3603,3606"]
HAIL TO THE PIN STRIPED JUMPSUIT
[gallery columns="1" link="file" size="full" ids="3608,3609,3610"]My look for attending the Royal Wedding Pub was inspired by London's main color palette and the spring fashion must-haves that are currently trending. If you haven't noticed, stripes are all the rage right now. I actually surprised myself, after peeking into my closet earlier this week and discovering just how many striped articles of clothing I currently own. The outfit I am showcasing above is from Forever 21. This front tied, wide legged jumpsuit is not only flattering, but comfortable and extremely affordable. Dress it up with a pair of cute wedges, and don't forget to top it off with a bold lip.
IF THE CROWN FITS
[gallery link="file" columns="1" size="full" ids="3612,3611"]We have all pretended to be royal at one time or another. There is nothing wrong with having a big imagination or enjoying the finer things in life. Graciously take your seat at the thrown only after being crowned and royally garbed. Meghan and Harry will be there cheering you on in their cardboard cut-out personas. You'll also be accompanied by the well behaved corgis, either seated at your feet or on your lap. This mock-up of Buckingham Palace can be found at the back of the Royal Wedding Pub, and is definitely a must see for all those princess and princes in training.[gallery columns="1" link="file" size="full" ids="3578,3580"]
Pardon me Harry, I will be wearing the crown for a little while. I hope you all have enjoyed this post and get a chance to visit this Royal Wedding Pub first hand. There are a couple days left so find the time and trot over to D.C.'s very own Royal quarters. If you're interested in the previous popup bar Drink Company ingeniously created prior to this one, check out my Cherry Blossom Pub and Godzilla Makes his D.C debut posts to see and read in detail about their brilliant work.
