D.C. Wedding Week

D.C. WEDDING WEEK

Jasmine Smith, founder and lead planner of Jasmine Smith & Co launched the first ever D.C. Wedding Week April 24th-29th. Not only did her vision become a reality, but she created an invaluable series of events that without a doubt will develop into an annual affair. The talented vendors all had incredible advice to share with the beaming brides-to-be.  Snaps to Jasmine and her team for showcasing unique spaces and venues around the D.C. area and producing a jam-packed week of wedding tips and tricks.[gallery columns="1" size="full" link="file" ids="3134,3133,3137"]This Mock Wedding was housed at Ajax, a newly opened venue in the blossoming Vernon Square neighborhood with configurable space and endless possibilities. The ambiance and romantic lighting was created and assembled by Pike Productions. The lovely Stephanie Dee snapped the night away capturing candid, detailed and memorable photos. Aside from the photos, C Spot Media  documented the whole dazzling evening.

What better way for your guests to take a little piece of the great time they had with them! Photo booths are not only a fun, interactive way for guest and host(s) to connect and socialize, but a great opportunity for marketers to incorporate brand awareness and provide a one-of-a-kind keepsake attendees actually want.  Due to the continual growth of technology, some photo booths now offer electronic copies of your photos that can be sent via email or text in a matter of seconds in addition to glossy prints. Tickled Photo Booth was the featured entertainment company for D.C. Wedding Week. Providing out-of-the-box or entirely customizable backdrops and props, Tickled Photo Booth could be the perfect addition to your next event. At the end of the day, this company's sole focus is bringing the "IT" factor to any event. If the backdrop has been catching your eye as much as it caught mine, you can thank Brightly Ever After for their gorgeous floral wall and neon sign! This father-daughter duo is brightening up D.C., Maryland and Virginia...quite literally... one event at a time with their unique and original services. If you're looking to make your event SHINE a little brighter, Brightly Ever After is for you.

GORGEOUS TABLE SETTING

[gallery size="full" columns="1" link="file" ids="3151,3150,3153,3152,3154,3149"]Please take your seat. How warm and inviting is this table setting? This classic and exquisite table setting was designed by J. Danielle Design. Her chic vision was brought to life at D.C. Wedding Weeks Mock Reception last Thursday evening. The wonderful production company, Select Event Rentals provided the tables, chairs and linen seen above. The gorgeous flowers from Uncloudy Studio softly cascaded down the length of the table giving it a luscious and opulent look. The gold silverware complimented the gold rimmed wine glasses and charger plates to a tee, not to mention the stunning candelabras framing the centerpiece. The emerald green napkins added a pop of color, topped off with the modern menu cards designed by Typecase Industries.

COCKTAIL HOUR

[gallery columns="1" link="file" size="full" ids="3140,3141,3145,3146,3139,3135"]POP, FIZZ, CLINK! Cocktail hour is an important element to any wedding. For D.C. Wedding Week's "mock-tail hour", it was the delicate combination of several elements that collectively contributed to this elegant hour. From Pike Productions perfectly tuned playlist of Frank Sinatra humming softly in the background to incredibly creative passed hor d'oeuvres to the lovely and surprisingly comfortable lounge furniture provided by Social Supply Design & Decor, what more could you ask for? The bartenders were shaking and stirring all night, pouring pink Moet Hennessy and mixing up the signature cocktail.  The "I Do" spritz, see recipe below, was the perfect balance of refreshing and oh so tasty. Greenery accents and adorable bar signage from Typecase Industries, added the perfect touch.  Get Plated Catering outdid themselves with their ingenious passed hor d'oeuvres. From their "walking poke" to mini coned salads, heads were turning left and right in hopes to get hands on one or all of these innovative appetizers.SIGNATURE COCKTAIL RECIPE:

  • Belvedere Vodka
  • Pink Bubbly
  • Lemon Juice
  • St Germain

MOCK CEREMONY

[gallery link="file" columns="1" size="full" ids="3156,3155"]Here comes the Bride! Elite Secrets Bridal Boutique worked their magic! They provided the beautiful Bride to be with her magnificently delicate, non-traditional black gown and dark, edgy, yet classic makeup. Elite Secrets believes a bride should look fabulous all day long. The tall, slim silhouette of the bride was a sight to see. The groom looked equally handsome sporting his Blank Label tailored Tux. As she made her way to her soon to be hubby, she was greeted by Jeff, the sweet officiant. Uncloudy Studio's  wedding canopy was simple and elegant. This is a perfect example of how less is more. As the mock ceremony proceeded, guests followed along with their modern chic programs.

IT ISN'T A WEDDING WITHOUT CAKE

[gallery size="full" columns="1" link="file" ids="3157,3160"]This gorgeous wedding cake was designed by Couture Cakes by Sabrina.  Creator and owner, Sabrina Hare, brings an elegant flare to each costume cake she designs. Her attention to detail and excellent follow-through from start to finish is really what sets Sabrina apart. She goes above and beyond for each of her clients in an effort to create unique one-of-a-kind confectionery masterpieces.
