8 WAYS TO ENJOY EASTER EVEN DURING A PANDEMIC.
I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe and healthy. We made it through another week. This will be my first Easter under quarantine and am going to go out on a limb and say it will be your first too. Even though our traditional Easter plans won't be taking place this year, I'm certain you can still have a very "hoppy" Easter. Here are 8 ways to enjoy your Easter, even during a pandemic. I know the social distancing has been tough on us all, but I really find that planning things to look forward to helps tremendously and Easter can be one of those things.
8 WAYS TO ENJOY EASTER EVEN DURING A PANDEMIC.
1. SPEND TIME OUTSIDE
I find it ironic that I've spent more time outside during quarantine then before the lockdown. So... I guess you can say I'm seeing the sunny side of things - lol. The beautiful Spring days we have been having lately are making these uncertain times a little easier to bear. Amidst all the chaos, beauty still blooms as a hopeful reminder - remember that.
2. VIRTUAL VISITS WITH LOVED ONES
Thanks to Zoom, Facetime, Skype and other virtual platforms we are able to easily see and feel close to our loved ones. Set up a call or a happy hour with your family and friends this weekend!
3. DRESS UP
Dress to impress for YOURSELF this Easter and give your leggings a break. I'm wearing La Vie Rebecca Taylor's Meadow Floral Jumpsuit - size SR. I actually love this jumpsuit so much, I purchased it from RTR. It was 80% off, so really I couldn't resist. My Slate and Willow Floral Studs (which I also purchased - lol) added the perfect final touch to my look. These two items go perfectly together as well as alone. I'm still renting from RTR during a pandemic because looking and feeling good is something you CAN control and they have robust disinfecting policy in place.
4. TAKE OUT AND STAY IN
Take a peek at my last post to see some local DC restaurants and bars still open for takeout or delivery. Not only is this a nice change of pace, it's a great way to give back and support the community. I'll be taking out and staying in this Sunday myself. I'm actually really excited for this years Easter din compliments of Fiola Mare.
EASTER DINNER MENU - $99
- Grilled Spring Asparagus, Black Truffle Fonduta
- Bucatini, Lobster all’Amatriciana
- Cumin Spiced Roasted Spring Lamb Rack, Artichoke Scafata, Rosemary Jus
- Colomba Italian Cake
5. FESTIVAL OF SPRING
Burnside Farms is currently hosting their annual Festival of Spring. I bought my ticket and am actually headed there tomorrow at 5:00pm. Visits are restricted to a limited number of visitors due to the current situation. When I bought mine this afternoon, I noticed there were still a handful of spots left. Tickets are $25.
6. DIY EASTER EGGS
Even though I will be 27 in 13 days, I will never be too old to color/decorate easter eggs. Dying eggs is an Easter tradition and even though I no longer live at home I intend to do this tradition every year. Even if you're not the crafty type, this may be a fun activity to do this year since you'll be home.
7. GO TO "CHURCH"
It doesn't matter what you believe in. We all can pray and send good vibes into the Universe, especially now. If you are practicing your faith, tune in to a televised Easter Mass this Sunday.
8. MOVIE NIGHT
Make some popcorn and end your Easter Sunday cozied up with a good movie and glass of wine or your favorite cocktail. Scroll through to see if any Easter or Spring movies look good to get you in the spirit.
Thanks for reading, I hope this post gives you some good ideas if your having a difficult time figuring out what to do this weekend. Wishing you all a hoppy and safe Easter!
